The annual DQ Week Awards night, which has already been held in the North, East and South regions, as usual turned out to be a rocking affair. The event, which aims to recognize the contribution of channel partners all over India, feted the partners on the basis of their financial (business) performance, credibility, credit terms, expansion programs and reach, among others.

The annual gig started with a bang in the national capital, which hosted the North region awards on July 10. The glittering awards night saw prominent channel players from across North India in attendance. The night saw 43 partners honored with the Delhi contingent claiming 11 awards. The night, which also marked the completion of nine years of The DQ Week Delhi edition, saw vendor representatives from leading firms across India come together to applaud the winners.

The jury panel for the northern region comprised Sanjay Yadav, national sales manager, Samsung; Sameer Mathur, head, Solutions Partner Organization, HP; Vidur Sehgal, GM, Redington; and Mukesh Choudhary, deputy GM, Ingram Micro. The awards night, which is usually held in Chennai this year moved to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for the first time. On August 7, channel partners from the twin cities gathered in Minerva Grand, Secunderabad.

The growing importance of channels in the IT business was reflected in the number of awards and categories. A total of 52 awards were given away this year. Tamil Nadu got 18 awards, with Chennai taking 12.

The panelists for the southern edition of the awards were Rajesh Khetarpal, GM, Redington India; Devendra Rawat, deputy GM (South 1), Ingram Micro India; Manoj Grover, partner business manager, HP India and Anand Sreekumar, regional manager, South, Samsung India.

After rocking South India, it was eastward ahoy for the ceremony. So on August 28 in a glittering ceremony that was held in ITC Sonar Bangla the third annual award night, the second since The DQ Week Kolkata was launched 18 months back, was held.

Dr Debesh Das, minister, Department of Information Technology, Government of West Bengal was the chief guest and Dr GD Gautama, secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal was also present there along with various other eminent personalities from both the industry and channel community.
