What are the key features of Cenium?
Cenium is a solution for the hospitality industry. This integrated business application is built on a single database and incorporates standardized user interface that address all functions of a hotel: finance, front desk, conference and banqueting, bar, restaurant and leisure such as spa, golf and rentals. The solution is built on the Microsoft Dynamics platform, a line of integrated seamlessly adaptable business management solution that are user friendly with the feel of word, excel, and outlook. The solution is successfully implemented across the world in more than 150 hotels in countries like the USA, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland. With a solution like this, the management is able to see instantly how the business is progressing so as to be able to make business decisions in real time.

What are the key IT trends you see in the hospitality sector?
Today, we see that IT has gradually moved into the internal departments of a hotel. It is used in the rooms division to carry out check in, checkout, and billing functions; in the engineering department for the building management system and internal guest complaint system; in the food and beverage department for sales; in finance for the accounting functions; and in HR for payroll. In the future, with the help of handheld devices, restaurant will be able to process orders and billing functions at the customer table.

Do you think Indian hotels are at par with their foreign counterparts when it comes to IT?
Although the Indian hospitality industry has some of the most successful brands, they are still at a nascent stage of their growth, in the market. The offering that we provide in this market allows the hospitality industry to have both, an international experience of best practices and a local flavor through localization. As the solution is flexible, the user is able to fine-tune the system according to how they want it.

What is the growth plan of the company. What products will you be launching this fiscal, and in what vertical?
We intend to maintain our focus on the retail and hospitality sectors with our extensive portfolio of applications and services that cater to the needs and requirement of these industries. Our intention is not only to add verticals to our portfolio, but also add depth within verticals.
