What are the growth opportunities of IP-SAN in the Indian market?
IP-SAN has gone through extensive validations and the good news is that it now stands tall in its own right with acceptance and endorsements from one and all. Now there is a built-in support for iSCSI (including SAN boot) in all major operating systems. With its attractive performance, promises to scale-up and scale-out, combined with ease of management, iSCSI is on its way to establish itself as the undisputed leader in the SAN arena. Moreover, industry analysts also project that iSCSI is going to enjoy a phenomenal growth and market dominance in the coming years.

We expect the Indian market, which is enjoying a mercurial growth in IT and storage, to ride on this and enjoy more than 25% growth per year. iSCSI has had many early adopters and this, in turn, has helped establish IP-SAN.

What is AMI Indias contribution to AMI Inc, and your strategy for the Indian market?
AMI India engineers work along with engineers from AMI USA and Taiwan in bringing out new products and solutions. Specific to India, we have planned a y-o-y growth of 40% keeping in mind the high technically skilled manpower. The thrust areas for us are storage, BIOS, the vehicle tracking system and our services.

How has been the retail divisions performance so far?
AMI Indias retail division caters to the Middle East and South Asian markets. Our flagship products such as BIOS, storage, diagnostics, and vehicle tracking systems have been the front-runners. In order to sell enterprise wireless LAN solution in the SAARC region we have partnered with USA-based Strix Systems as a value added reseller.

Any products for the SMB segment?
AMI has introduced StorTrends family of consolidated and virtualized storage server products to the market, which have features and performance that make them ideal for the SMB segment. With inherent dual-dialect support, StorTrends offers an all-in-one solution for NAS and SAN networks. The advantage is that one single console can manage the StorTrends iTX and StorTrends NAS servers. Further, planning and tracking of storage resources across the enterprisers is much easier. The dual dialect support ensures two-way treatment, as far as storage of data is concerned.
