While secondary storage along with DAS continues to be the favored option of mid-sized companies, network storage adoption still remains pretty low. The lack of SAN deployment in education sector shows that the vertical is yet to get IT savvy.


Software Applications

Amongst software applications, penetration of Accounting, Billing Applications and Payroll are highest whereas E-business is lowest. And, not surprisingly, highest penetration of Accounting, Billing Applications, Inventory Applications and ERP are seen in the Manufacturing vertical. While BPO's high penetration of applications is understandable, BFSI's low score is a big surprise.


IT Services

BPO and BFSI lead with the highest penetration of IT Services, in which hardware deployment and support as well as system integration lead in penetration whereas enterprise wide IT outsourcing has the lowest penetration.
