Channel Partners

Major channel partners from whom purchase of IT products and services are made are distributor/reseller(s) or directly from the companies, in must of the verticals. In fact, BPO and IT Services/Software verticals make most of their purchase directly from principle IT companies such as Microsoft, HP, IBM, Tally, Zenith etc. Online purchases are insignificant, expect in IT Services/Software vertical.

Services From The Vendor

The two major services provided by vendors are technology information sharing and training in IT. However, in verticals such as education, IT Services/Software and BPO, training in IT by the vendor is more prevalent compared to information sharing. At an overall level, only one in nine organizations says that financing is provided by vendors, the instances being highest in case of the Services vertical.

 

What Do Growing Enterprises Think of Vendors?
  • Large MNC vendors and individual consultants do not own any strong association among emerging enterprises

  • Large Indian vendors have been associated with prompt reaction and response and valuing customer time and offering value for money products and services

  • Indian medium / small vendors have been associated with providing unbiased technology suggestions

  • Large SIs and NIs are considered to be designing best solution and to be managed with ethics

  • Medium/small SIs/NIs have been associated with keeping customers informed about the latest changes in the technology and quoting lowest price

  • Local SIs/NIs/Service partners are considered to have long term business strategy by selling product at lowest price or on credit by which enterprises like to work more with this category

  • Resellers / Distributors are associated with comfort in dealing by enterprises

  • Retailers are considered to be keeping their customers informed about the latest changes in the technology

  • Perceptions such as dependable service & support, availability of highly trained and skilled personals, customer oriented approach have not been associated with any vendor
