A first-timer in the DQ-IDC BPO E-SAT, this mortgage-focused BPO
subsidiary of i-flex makes it to the top 10. Like all focused and small
companies, it scores better in employee satisfaction while losing out to large
companies in terms of HR ranking.
Equinox Globals good showing is influenced by its performance
in the area of salary and perks. Its best showing in the sub-parameters are
related to the broader area of salary and perks: overall salary levels, hikes,
perks, and benefits.
In the last one year, Equinox has restructured its pay
structure. Employees are given different roles in different processes according
to their expertise and capacity, and they are compensated as per their
performance in those roles. One of the reasons for the restructuring is that the
company wants to retain experienced and skilled professionals by aligning their
salary level and practices with global standards. The other reason for the
salary hike is that the company has shown a dramatic growth in terms of revenue
and head count.

"The unique model of seamless working between HR and

The area where Equinox has not done well is the perception that
the companys leadership is not taking the best steps for the companys
growth. That too is not too surprising, since Equinox is going through a
transformation, along with a name change from Equinox to i-flex BPO.
Equinox already has vertical competencies in the areas of
mortgage consumer finance, banking, securities and capital markets, insurance,
and real estate investment trust, but now it is moving into retail banking,
capital market, and the insurance sector also, and the process has been started
to share these new developments with the employees. Training has also been
started to have ready manpower in these sectors.
The alignment of IT and BPO may result in some hard decisions,
