Being in the highly niche healthcare domain, employees gave high scores for
the companys infrastructure and training. This, according to the company, is
not surprising because they put a lot of emphasis on certification, and fully
fund their employees to take up certifications like CCAT (Certified Clinic
Account Technician) and CPC (Certified Professional Coder). Meanwhile, on the
appraisal front, the company got low scoreshere the employees believe that the
appraisal system has to become more relevant and transparent with due emphasis
given to acknowledging special initiatives.

The company attributes the low scores on its appraisal system to the timing
of the survey, which were administered right after its appraisal cycle ended.
Appraisals are an emotive issue and some employees might have rated badly as an
immediate response. We do have a good appraisal system factoring in all
parameters, says Shankar Narasimhan, director, HR. As a significant move, the
company launched pay for performance on the normalization principles, aimed at
better rewarding top performers.
