Patnis BPO division saw a sudden spurt of growth that the company could not
deal with especially from the HR point of view.
One of the major reasons for this could be the fact that the company is still
going through a transition phase in terms of adopting robust HR policies similar
to the ones that the mother company has in place. While on one hand the company
has excellent workplace and infrastructure facilities, on the other it lacks in
basic aspects such as training, and perks and benefits that every BPO employee
expects. Though Patni BPO has a compensation and rewards system in place, it
very rarely translates into money, which could be a reason for the low ratings.

Having identified these as the weak points, the company has been laying
special focus on learning, development, good quality trainers and better salary
benchmarks. It has also put a freeze on external lateral hiring to push
homegrown managerial talent. One major step was to introduce an open-door
policy, where the top management became more easily accessible.
