KPIT Cummins Infosystems

The merger of Cummins Infotech—a subsidiary of Cummins Inc.—with KPIT Infosystems has led to the combined entity taking a jump to #16 from #55 last year. KPIT Cummins Infosystems (KPIT), a software services company, reported revenues of Rs 72.51 crore and a net profit of Rs 6.91 crore, up 52% and 223% respectively over the previous year. The gross block went up 35% to Rs 14.79 crore, whereas the ROCE improved from 14.60% to 23.73%. KPIT is ranked #2 in sales growth, #3 in profit growth, #15 in gross block growth and #16 in ROCE. KPIT Infosystems merged with Cummins Infotech to expand service offerings as the latter had strengths in the manufacturing industry specific e-business solutions and Lotus notes. US-based Cummins Inc. is a Fortune 500 $5.70-billion company with a presence in over 37 countries worldwide. KPIT Cummins Infotech aims to achieve revenues of $100 million by 2006-07 based on revenue flows from Cummins Inc.
