Mumbai-based Melstar is ranked #9 compared to #57 last year thanks to an improvement in profit performance in fiscal 2003 as compared to the previous fiscal. In the year ended March 2003, the company reported revenues of Rs 43.59 crore and a net profit of Rs 3.02 crore, up by 1% and 387% respectively over the previous year. The company’s gross block stood at Rs 28.41 crore, up 9% over the previous year, while its ROCE improved from 1% to 9% in fiscal 2003. Melstar is ranked #46 in sales, #39 in profits, #32 in sales growth, #1 in profit growth, #40 in gross block size and #37 in gross block growth.
