The mid sized software company Compudyne Winfosys is ranked at # 15 in the overall rankings thanks largely due to the growth in the gross block. The company was among the surprise top 5 rankers last year but has declined this year due to the poorer relative performance. Compudyne reported revenues of Rs. 21.75 crore and net profit of Rs. 2.36 crore in the year ended March 2002. While sales were down 13%, the net profit was down by 64%. Compudyne is ranked at # 53 in sales, # 43 in profits, # 39 in sales growth and # 43 in profit growth. The company’s gross block stood at Rs. 48.72 crore, which was up 224% over last year. The company is ranked at # 30 in gross block size and tops the gross block growth rankings. The Bangalore based company provides customized software services in client server and Internet area apart from providing multimedia solutions and now focuses on multimedia, 3D animations, visual effects and contents for entertainment industry.
