PentaSoft Technologies (PentaSoft), the Chennai-based software services company, is ranked #20 based on fiscal 2002 numbers and would have been ranked lower had the latest financials been available. PentaSoft garnered revenues of Rs 371.17 crore and a net profit of Rs 59.68 crore, down by 37% and 53% respectively over the previous year. The gross block of the entity was up 24% to Rs 1,130.70 crore. PentaSoft is ranked #14 in sales, #12 in profit and #3 in gross block. The company provides software services, CAD/CAM/CAE, engineering services and IT education. In the services segment, PentaSoft offers application development, maintenance, migration and e-commerce services with focus on financial services, insurance, and manufacturing verticals. Its CAD/CAM/CAE and engineering services are focused on the automotive, aerospace and heavy engineering industries. PentaSoft was earlier focused on the IT education business and acquired the software business of PentaMedia Graphics in the year 2000.
