A Question of Satisfaction
To understand employee satisfaction on various issues, the DQ-IDC survey captured key satisfaction parameters through 56 questions. Here's what IT industry employees had to say on each of them

Methodology Note: Medians were calculated for an overall assessment of the industry's performance on each question and therefore each parameter. Based on this for instance, the industry as a whole got the highest scores on people and company culture and the lowest on salary and appraisal systems.

However, the key score to watch out for is that of “Most Satisfied” category. Basically it means that the strength of a specific company is judged by how many of its employees are most satisfied on any attribute-rather than on how the average for a company turns out. Reason-it is a measure of the intensity of employee engagement with the company. As a result, all rankings of companies in the statements given below are based on “Most Satisfied” or “Strongly Agree” scores only.

l Among the biggest dissatisfaction areas-barring salary and appraisal issues-was the number of days of training given in a year
l IT industry employees agreed most strongly with these two statements: 'My relationship with my peers makes for a better work environment' and 'My colleagues help me when I need them'
