What really catapulted this SI from Chennai into the Top 10 league this year was a high level of employee satisfaction. And this was reflected in the employee ranking where it rose from #20 to #8. A spate of M&A by Accel-ICIM of small and faltering entities could have a bearing on the high employee satisfaction registered. Unfortunately, low scores in hygiene HR issues led to a #17 rank in HR parameters and ultimately pulled back its overall position.
That the employee ranking shot up by more than 10 points could be directly co-related to a high degree of satisfaction with the salary and compensation structure-Accel ICIM ranked third in this parameter. Not surprising, since a rationalization of salary structure across the company ensured more than 25% hike for both technical and sales people. This bonanza had also led to a higher overall and composite satisfaction amongst employees. 88.8% of them look forward to a day's work at the company, the highest in the industry, and also take pride in being associated with it. Consequently, 81.4% of the employees would recommend the company to a close friend and only 11.1% would join another company for a 20% salary hike. All these were a substantial improvement over last year and no wonder Accel ICIM's overall satisfaction ranking improved to #5 from #14, while it ranked #4 as a preferred employer, buoyed by a wholehearted endorsement from 51.9% of its own employees.
Not only did the employees give thumbs up to the salary increments, they even ensured that the appraisal ranking jumped from #19 to #9. Probably Singapore-based Frontline's investment into Accel ICIM and the opening of two Linux competency centers contributed to this growing optimism.
Notwithstanding all accolades from the employee front, Accel ICIM remained on a sticky wicket on many of the HR parameters. Particularly galling was the #19 position in retention, especially in this environment of employee optimism across the company.
