Launched Sonoma based Notebooks
Revenues from Government topped the charts

Riding high on last year's growth, Acer India cashed in on another year with notebook sales scaling new heights, registering a 101% growth. Desktops followed with a 65% growth. Acer holds the fourth spot in the notebook market in India, with Dell just a step ahead at number three. Acer's strategy has been competitive pricing; and it in a way started the price war in the market for desktops and notebooks. For instance, the company launched the AMD Sempron based notebook-Acer Aspire 1362-at a price point of Rs 35, 999, which has been a huge success within the educational community. The TravelMate 2300 and TravelMate 4000 series, aimed at the price conscious buyer, which contributed more than half of its notebook sales. Revenues from the Government topped the charts with 27%, followed by SMBs and the SOHO segment. In JFM 2005 the company announced its first notebook based on the Intel Sonoma platform.
