Throughout the first half of FY 2004-05, Rolta was hounded by allegations of financial irregularities. Despite this the company neither lost its footing nor its credibility amongst its customers worldwide; instead, it was awarded both CMM Level 5 and BS7799 even as it bagged significant domestic as well as international projects, exceeding Rs 200 crore. These were spread across diverse segments, including utilities and communications (People's Energy, US), town planning (Sacramento Municipality), public service/dispatch agencies (City Public Service, San Antonio), photogrammetry (Military Survey Department, Abu Dhabi) and digital imagery (Indian Ministry of Defense) amongst others. Since Rolta had the largest mapping data available with it in India, the Government Survey of India made the company its preferred partner.
